High Lights out now!
Amidst the shimmer of the 1987 Golden Scissors Awards, Sylvia Scutlash, special agent is tasked with unearthing missing communication crucial to the United Guild of Hairdressers. But a grisly murder and a dishy detective distract her from her mission.
Will Sylvia cut to the chase and save UGH from extinction? Can Detective Danny Dreamboat unravel both the murder and Sylvia’s heart?
A punny, funny cozy mystery, where there is more backstabbing than backcombing set against the extravagant backdrop of Las Vegas.
High Lights is a delightful way to spend a lazy afternoon with a spritz or two of wine and your favourite snacks. It rocks along to the eighties beat – I loved the inclusion of reworked pop favourites into smoothly styled hair themed anthems. If you like a bright heroine who’ll do whatever it takes to help her friends; including solving mysteries, catching the murderer and coping with the mayhem of an eighties conference swirling with lycra, big hair and shoulder pads spinning in the fast pace of Vegas then you’ll love High Lights.
This is a wonderful series so far and I can't wait for more! If you are looking for a quirky cozy mystery with humour, this is your book! It’s been more than two years since I read the first book in The Wavy Lady series and I must admit that I squealed with delight when I saw that this sequel was mine for the grabbing! Good fun to read, and plenty of ridiculous hair puns. Didn't guess the killer til near the end!
The characters are nothing like any I've met before a Vegas hotel full of hairdressers from all over the world some to try for the coveted Golden Scissors award, . They will draw you in with their special kind of charm then you'll be enticed further through intrigue deception, lies betrayal and murder. Keeping you entranced turning page after comical, deadly and mysterious page not letting you go until you've reached its unexpected and climatic conclusion
Dying Roots
Set in 1977 London, hairdresser Sylvia Scutlash sets out to solve the hair dye mystery for the great Vitale Crassoon. If she fails, she will lose her salon. Can she get to the root of the disaster and find the family she longs for?
Dying Roots is a laugh-out-loud, amateur sleuth hairdresser cozy mystery — the 1st book in the Wavy Lady series.
A fun book full of twists and turns, as Sylvia is sent on a mission from “Down Under” to London to rescue another hairdresser’s salon. I love the constant play on words for the names of the people in the story! Sylvia is also searching for information about her family, and the father that sent her to an Australian convent at a young age. Read along as Sylvia makes new friends and uncovers a few enemies in Britain. An interesting read full of Aussie expressions and London lore! I’m looking forward to reading more about the Wavy Lady Salon and Sylvia’s adventures!
A fantastic debut. Great characters and plot, with plenty of laugh out loud moments Very fun story, definitely enjoyed the characters banter and eccentricities. Crazy mixed up family, friends and wannabes trying to inherit hidden treasures and a hair salon that is up for grabs. Wasn’t expecting the outcome!! Look forward to Sylvia’s next adventure.
